Dr. Wayne Geiger
Lead Pastor
Dr. Wayne Geiger has been the pastor of First Baptist Grain Valley since May of 2015. He earned his undergraduate degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and has an MS in Christian Studies from Calvary Theological Seminary, an MA in Speech Communication from University of Central Missouri, and a Master of Theology and Doctor of Educational Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Wayne has served as the pastor of several churches in Louisiana and Missouri and has worked in Christian radio for more than twenty-five years–most recently as co-host of the morning show on Life 88.5 Kansas City. He and his wife, Kimberly, have been married for over thirty-five years. Together, they have four children, Rachael, Josh, Bekah, and Jon. In his spare time, Wayne enjoys hanging out with Kimberly, reading, and running. He is also the Chaplain for the Grain Valley Police Department and the Blue Springs Police Department, an Adjunct Professor of Speech at Johnson County Community College, and an instructor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Gordon Chrisman
Pastor of Discipleship
Rev. Gordon Chrisman has served the Lord for over 40 years in pastoral ministry and recently joined our staff in December 2022 as Pastor of Discipleship. He is married to Shari and has five children and nine grandchildren.
Kelcy Beyers
Contemporary Worship Leader
Kelcy Beyers has led worship at First Baptist Church of Grain Valley since 2013 and is our worship leader in the contemporary service (10:30 AM). Kelcy taught herself how to play guitar when she was a student at Mizzou. She quickly used her gift of music to begin leading worship for the FCA program at Mizzou and at her summer job as a whitewater rafting guide in Colorado. Kelcy and her husband Cody have three children: Finley, Fallon, and Flora. Kelcy grew up attending First Baptist Church of Grain Valley and is excited to serve at her church in this capacity!
Blake Wyatt
Student Ministries
Blake Wyatt is our Minister of ROCK Student Ministries (7th Grade - 12th Grade). He is married to his wife, Kelsay. Blake has served in various capacities of youth ministry for several years and is a student at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminar completing a degree in youth ministry.
Sarah Earley
Children's Ministries
Sarah was hired in the Fall of 2021 as our Director of Children's Ministries. She is married to her husband Chris, who is a Deacon at our church. Together, they have 4 children: Annalynn, Eli, Samuel, and Emily. Sarah oversees everything from newborn babies to 6th graders attending Sunday School on Sunday mornings. She is excited to get to serve at the church that she grew up in and help make an impact similar to the way her life was impacted by the children's program when she was a child attending church here!
Rachel Tibbs
Church Secretary
Rachel has served as our church secretary since the Winter of 2022. She is married to her husband, David. Together, they have three children: Garrett, Audrey, & Grant. In addition to serving in this current capacity, Rachel also homeschools. She is no stranger to ministry, her father has been the pastor of a church in New England for 30 years. She also graduated from Elim Bible Institute in Lima, NY in 2006. Rachel is excited to be apart of the team!
