Chris Sims
Lead Pastor

Chris Sims began serving FBCGV as Pastor in February 2026 . He serves the Lord from a posture of big faith and with the primary gifts of shepherding and equipping. Chris and Eve have been married since 1994 and have served in church and para-church ministry together for 20 years. They have 3 daughters: Emma Aliya and her twin sisters Brianna (married to Forrest) and Katelyn. Chris studied at University of Arkansas Fort Smith and Union University (Seminary). He has pastored and planted several churches throughout the United States.

Blake Wyatt

Student Ministries

Blake Wyatt is our Minister of ROCK Student Ministries (7th Grade - 12th Grade). He is married to his wife, Kelsay. Blake has served in various capacities of youth ministry for several years and is a student at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminar completing a degree in youth ministry.

Kelcy Beyers

Contemporary Worship Leader

Kelcy Beyers has led worship at First Baptist Church of Grain Valley since 2013 and is our worship leader in the contemporary service (10:30 AM). Kelcy taught herself how to play guitar when she was a student at Mizzou. She quickly used her gift of music to begin leading worship for the FCA program at Mizzou and at her summer job as a whitewater rafting guide in Colorado. Kelcy and her husband Cody have three children: Finley, Fallon, and Flora. Kelcy grew up attending First Baptist Church of Grain Valley and is excited to serve at her church in this capacity!

Sarah Cook
Office Secretary

Sarah has been our church secretary since 2025. She works hard behind the scenes to keep the day-to-day functions of the church running smoothly. When not behind the desk, you will most likely see Sarah discipling the children in our church.
