The 4 week Membership Track is for people who are ready to stop visiting and start belonging. It's the next step for anyone who wants to plant their life here at First Baptist Church of Grain Valley.
The Membership Track is a four-part gathering spread over four weeks in a Life Group style environment where we walk through what FBCGV is all about — our history, our mission, our beliefs, and what it practically looks like to be part of this church family. We'll dig deeper into what we believe, how the church is structured, how you can get involved, and what the covenant of membership really means. It's not a test. It's not a formality. It's a conversation — and we want you at the table. The class is open to anyone seriously considering how to Grow in Christ as well as Serve with Purpose, whether you're transferring from another church or you've never been a member anywhere before. This gathering is hosted by one of our church staff, one additional family in leadership and is hosted at the church around a meal on a Sunday Night.
Membership at FBCGV isn't about signing a card or checking a box. It's about covenant — choosing this community, showing up for it, and letting it show up for you. The Bible paints a picture of the local church not as a service you attend but as a body you belong to (1 Corinthians 12:27). When you become a member here, you're saying: these are my people, and I'm committing to them. That means praying for one another, serving together, bearing each other's burdens (Galatians 6:2), and growing in Christ side by side. It's a serious and beautiful thing — and we don't take it lightly.
